Bruce Coe (SlightChance) and Rob Witte (SlimChance) met early in this century as members of the renowned Eastern Washington cowboy/country band, The Outriders. Several years later, Bruce and Rob got together again with the idea of bringing the diverse musical backgrounds they both enjoyed into one project, The Chance Brothers Band.
The Chance Brothers Band: Open, honest, traditional rural music from the heart of the country. Bob Wills to Jason Isbell, with a contemporary slant. Singer-Songwriter Bruce Coe draws from a host of resources to give the CBB a flavor and style that includes folk, western swing and cowbilly. Unique and listenable, the music is tethered to a succinct lyrical content that spans a humorous look at meat-market bars in “Take Over the Payments” to the be-here-now tone of “Welcome to Your Destination.”
That makes for original and compelling music. Our Eastern Washington roots shines through everything we do. The Chance Brothers’ music is stripped down and essential, catchy, forgiving and honest.
The two “brothers” have been working for the last two years on a concept: The idea that music constrained by the number of players is not only simpler but more effective. Roots matter, and it doesn’t make any difference where the music ends up, it all starts either in the country or on the streets.
